The owners loved the simple modernist approach of the existing house, but the building was in a sad state of repair and was either too hot or too cold.

 

The general building envelope was retained but significantly updated, with high performance glazing and external screens incorporated to mitigate the strong westerly afternoon sun.

 

The interiors were also completely refreshed utilising a strong yet calm palate of materials and colours that reflect the owner’s love and appreciation of modern design.
