light & dark
Having recently returned from living in Asia for many years, the clients were drawn to the bushland setting of this 1970's home.
However significant improvements were needed to not only take greater advantage of the beautiful setting, but to provide the spaces for a modern family home and to comply with the strict requirements of the bushfire zoning.
The steep sloping site meant that separating the living spaces vertically enabled better access to the outdoors, view sharing and natural light throughout.
Oversized picture windows bring the bush landscape into each room, blurring the lines of what is indoor and outdoor.
